The Konak District Goverorship has organized the first training of the trainers of the Bridge Between Cultures project in İzmir between 6-10 February.The training was organized for 25 teachers attending from the schools where Roma students are the majority of the school population.
Issues such as parents' involvement in education, education for individual needs, problems in Roma student’s education in Turkey and Europe are discussed and the participants were introduced the STEM method that allows children to learn challenging courses such as science, mathematics and technology courses with a fun way. During the training, the participants are also informed about the Bridge Between Cultures project, its aims and the output of the project; Roma’s School Failure and Dropping Out.
The participant teachers were delighted to share their experiences with their colleagues and use their experience in their professional lives through the 5-day Bridge Between Cultures Project Teacher Training event where they found the opportunity to share their experiences in Roman education.
